We rescue scientific equipment and supplies headed for landfills and give them to schools that need them - for free.
Our 2025 Impact
340 STEM educators picked up free scientific equipment and supplies through our monthly Teacher Open Houses
Teachers from 25 counties across California and from neighboring states - mostly from K-12 schools - traveled to our Oakland warehouse for free materials
130,000 students benefited from the free scientific supplies – mostly in under-resourced schools
99 Bay Area companies and academic institutions donated usable scientific equipment and supplies instead of throwing it away
$1.3M in donated lab materials were given to STEM educators – completely for free
Big idea. Real impact.
For over twenty years, BioLink Depot has supported hands-on STEM education and sustainable lab recycling.
Zero cost to schools or teachers: We provide greater than $1 million worth of usable scientific materials to educators at absolutely no charge.
Sustainability: We give new life to donated used and surplus lab equipment and supplies from biotech companies and academic institutions, keeping perfectly good gear out of landfills.
Impact: Funds go toward warehouse operations, logistical support and outreach to ensure as many teachers as possible get the tools they need to inspire future scientists.
“BioLink Depot enabled me to have more materials and supplies so that students can see real equipment and learn the skills used in industry. I can keep group sizes small - no more sitting and watching".”

Former biology teacher and Director at San Joaquin County Office of Education
